So, as always, FCD has some great threads this morning. They got me thinking about the last 24 hours.
My overall feelings surprised me.
Since 2016, most of America has stated at some point, that that particular election...2016, 2020, or 2024...was the most important of our lifetime, and some even said the most important in our history. It felt to me that the phrase was over used and losing it's meaning.
Not that I disagreed or was immune, I said it too. And am about to again, tbh.
The first thing that really got me, was watching Trump's eyes during the different events. He was watching every response, who clapped, who stood, and so on. It struck me that he was sizing up his enemies. He was watching like a hawk, and I don't think his opposition really understand just how much he really sees.
The second thing that got me, was his solemnity. While I did see him laugh at times, and smile, he put forth an attitude we have not seen in this world in a very long time. It seems like he is about to walk through brick walls. That really is the only way I can describe it.
Then I was kinda pissed during the beginning of the arena event. This is one of the surprising feelings. I don't know why, really, either.
The whole "Scoreboard Cam" where they had people clapping for their fav family member just irked me. It could be that I do not want a royal family.
Working in the live entertainment industry, I understand what was going on. I understand the energy that was there, and how the energy was being molded and focused. The TD of the event did everything right, and quite honestly, if I had been TD, I would have made the same calls.
It just really, really bugged me.
During that parade, I saw another thing, what seemed to me to be a very deep conversation between Trump and Vance. Vance seemed surprised at times, disturbed at times, and confused at times...to me. I got a slight sense of foreboreding that he should not be trusted 100% yet.
It left me with the overall feeling that the last 9-10 years really have been a war that Trump won.
And now he is going to root out the rot and try to restore the constitution. And NOTHING is going to stop him. He WILL do WHATEVER it takes for America.
This is just how I have been left feeling.
So yeah, 2024 was the most important election in our history.

Oh, but did you see Trump and Vance at the service this morning when the liberal "pastor" took a shot at them.
At the end, you could see Vance and Trump go..." Well...that's your LAST 15 minutes of fame!!!"
"Don't worry...you won't be called upon ever again for any sermons, invocations or statements...so help us...AMERICA!!!"
P.S. - Hope she enjoyed it...because she will never see the light of the press ever again, unless she goes on the View.
Oh, and her Parrish will suffer madly due to her politification of the sermon.
My opinion...Crawl in your hole, liberal religious bully pulpit propagandist...and die there. You will not be missed. You are not a woman of the cloth, no, you are an agent of the Devil!
Good bye!

I did.
The "pastor" is not the last one we will see, but the frequency will decrease.
Progressives are just slow and haven't realized America does not agree with them. These dying gasps with get rarer. I hope.

I'm behind because of the recent thread view problem, but I ended up making a long comment on FCD's thread that this is almost an addendum to.
While I think we are in the shit as far as a lot of things go, Trump was clearly the best choice available on the ballot and quite possibly the best choice possible of those not on the ballot. He will handle many aspects of this controlled demolition better than anyone in politics and has the political capital to get things done when he needs to. I think that capital may be spread pretty thin in the face of the controlled demolition and he'll have to start making decisions about how to spend it. It's a big pile of shit to deal with and he's only got so many shovels with four years of time to do it. I think Vance is a subversive influence, which makes more sense in the context of the other post in FCD's thread. I think Vance will be willing to advance portions of the anti-human agenda to accomplish ideological goals that aren't worth the cost in the long run. I hope I'm wrong because I don't see anyone that will be better positioned for 2028 and no viable challenger on the left unless the whole head of the snake is cut off. A real liberal candidate, with a real liberal national platform, is probably not in the cards and is about the only viable path for them. The corporate neocons running the DNC, with their rainbow flags and Kente cloth scarf disguises, aren't fooling the center anymore. Absent more fraud, they're unviable outside urban shitholes and in the places those with enough money to flee them have infested.
Trump is out of touch with real life in many ways and he was definitely out of touch with DC in the first term. He's not nearly as out of touch with real life as the entrenched political cohort and he tries to get more in touch with it. As far as understanding the baseline he's pretty much the best choice that was available, few if any in DC would be better.
He's far more astute than anyone really gives him credit for too, but his weakness here is that he's reliant on a lot of information that is passing through a lot of layers before it gets to him. That's not something he can control, only try to mitigate. Hopefully he'll be better at it this time with the experience he had in the first term. Fauci, Birx, and a host of people from other agencies were telling him lies that virtually anybody with real experience in those respective fields could see. These central federal agencies are infested with yes men, subversive ideologies, and cowards.
His health agenda seems to already be getting subverted from within. His agenda on ending wars is going to be challenged by IC efforts to create situations that will drive public support for wars, both military and economic. It's really looking like there are going to more bad compromises within the ranks than there will be with the left. I think a lot of things are going to be off the table before they every see the light of day all because of people that have wormed their way into his influence orbit.
Not main players even, just a bunch of people leaning into policies that conveniently redirect resources (financial, legislative, and intellectual) from more important problems. The health influencers that just got on the scene want to immediately ban a chemical that the farming industry has become totally reliant on over decades because of government negligence, which will create a food crisis on top of an existing food crisis because they can't just change their models overnight. They want the mRNA shots to go through a long academic and regulatory process (which is already done and is being scrubbed from journals by pharma funded retraction squads), even though it is proven to be magnitudes more dangerous than any other vaccine, is being forced on children by the soft-mandate of CDC recommendations, and has no benefit to virtually anybody that takes it. These people are worming their way in all over, sudden influencers that arrived on the scene a few months ago wearing MAGA hats and sporting fake followers on socials.
I'm as hopeful as can be possible under these circumstances and it's a lot more hopeful than the alternatives that were available, but it's still near historic lows even if the current trend has been positive.

I actually do think this election is more important than any in recent memory, maybe since the 1980 elections anyway.
Probably my biggest thing I see, mostly post-election, is the fact that votes DO matter, regardless how much one side tries to cheat. This, to me, was one of the biggest messages we saw this time around which has been sorely missing certainly from the past 3-4 elections, regardless of which side won. I've heard it countless times over the past decade(s)..."My vote doesn't matter; why even vote?" In other words, voter apathy.
One thing I think which was different this past November was the very real realization..."Hey, we ALL are going to go out and vote, and if it doesn't work this time...we're done!" I got a real sense of that. I'll be honest, I felt it myself. 2020 was so sketchy; maybe it wasn't rigged, but it sure looked like it was, and the "machine" was in full swing. Seemed to me the democrats were setting up for a full coup de tat, and nothing was going to stop them. They didn't just want the election, they wanted an empire forever. Trump, being an outsider, was a threat to that, and had to be stopped at any cost.
I really felt like..."This is it! If America can't vote, then America is lost." And, even thought you may find this hard to believe, I know who I wanted to win in my heart, but if Trump had lost...fair and square...I would have been okay with that. I probably would have been looking at long term alternatives knowing the fate of America was sealed until bigger events took place, but I would have respected the results. Honestly, I did not respect the 2020 results.
When I saw the nearly the entire nation turn red on the map in the recent election I had renewed hope. Things won't be fixed overnight, and maybe not even fixed in the next four years, but at least the American voting republic does have a voice. That seemed all but lost following the previous elections.
Trump is not a wizard, nor a magician. He is a mortal human, just like you and I. I just like the fact he follows through on promises as best as laws will allow him to and, most importantly, he is the only one who has called out and targeted the "SWAMP". No president before Trump has done this openly and in public. But again, Trump is not a career politician...and the "SWAMP" is.

I saw a picture of the pastor in my feed. Pretty much exactly what I expected.
I see the churches around here in rural farm and ranch country are infested with rainbow frock shit. I don't know what the goal is with making it a prominent part of the advertising and messaging. I don't think there are a large number of LGBT people that are desperate for a local church to attend, here or anywhere else.
I'm not a Christian so it's not my problem, but I don't really understand the appeal of getting into religion as an LGBT simp other than to subvert it. People are weird. I guess it's like the willingness of those in progressive activism cults to see changing definitions on a whim as a solid win. Change the religion and make it say what you want, then claim it as a victory for the cause.

I did the same, and thought the same exact thing. It was like..."No surprise here!"

If you look at where the LGBT (particularly trans) community places much of their emphasis, it is usually heavily focused on the area were it will cause the most societal objection. They're not trying to further their agenda as much as trying to create anarchy. Example, trans-men in girls locker rooms and bathrooms, trans-men in strength sports for girls where physical size and mass matter most, etc. They seldom try to get acceptance in the loca gender specificl book club, or chess club. They're intentionally trying to stir up trouble and create unrest. I sometimes feel like some of these people just try to come up with the craziest, most objectionable and inflammatory thing possible, regardless of what it is, and take that up as a cause. Maybe they're just doing it for the attention, but they definitely want strife also. I think the goal is to break the most accepted norms, one by one, so it will be impossible to make any boundaries at all in society in terms of what is socially acceptable. Translated...anarchy. Just my .02.
edit - And candidly, I almost feel like it's a little unfair to even include the "LGB" (lesbian, gay and bi) in my above statements, as they have generally been somewhat reasonable with their actions if left alone to live their lives. But the only reason I included them at all is because they insist on demanding the "T" (trans) element be included their overall cause.

Well, if the LGB doesn't feel like taking control of their identity back from the T, that's not going to change. All the identity cults are pretty much just political influence NGOs that are totally detached from the interests of who they allegedly are meant to lobby for.
I think that people with personality disorders will gravitate toward things that cause a scene and draw attention/sympathy, which is amplified by identity cult rhetoric in certain communities. When you start promoting certain identity characteristics or giving them social advantages, those people with certain personalities will find ways to exploit the advantages of whatever identity groups they either already fit under or can become part of.
Subversive.
So, in this case the active subversionists are the trans extremists, who also started to skew heavily into pedophile apologist rhetoric. The subverted are the LGB. Within that subverted group, a certain number always become active subversionists too because there's always a pool of people with these dark personality traits in any group. Now you get excluded from LGB if you criticize the subversionists. Gays Against Groomers I guess was maybe an attempt to push back from those that were tired of that albatross around their neck. Normal people don't want to be associated with pedophilia lobbyists and the covering up of sexual assaults against children for optics.
The number of trans people is so low as to be an almost non-issue statistically. That's even after the bonkers incentives/marketing for people with personality disorders and the irrational clinical push for calling kids trans. Then you have the Munchausen-by-proxy moms that now get applauded for projecting their weird shit on their kids as long as it involves gender care. Even with all that it's barely a blip on the radar.
A bunch of young men with personality disorders discovered easy mode for 1st place and a permissive environment for sexual deviance/crime that has nothing to do with their gender identity. None of this helps people with gender dysphoria get better and certainly doesn't help people that are really living their lives as another gender. It's a shame that people get used for these kinds of culture wars. I had a relative that was trans going back to the 70's. Anybody calling today's atmosphere a trans genocide or complaining about trans rights has no clue what people went through so they could run around looking like Homer Simpson and screaming at baristas for accidentally calling them sir. These people need to called out for the benefit of the herd.
I call people whatever they want to be called. A guy feeling compelled to be waving his erection around in front of kids and hanging in the women's locker room all the time is a degenerate, which is totally independent of whatever they want to identify as. If a guy was doing it in the men's locker area it wouldn't be a controversial statement at all to make. Yet, we've had several national cases where it wasn't okay to say it because it was man in a women's area doing it while claiming to be a woman... how subversive is that shit? These aren't serious people.
