Quick Edit - Not Working

I just noticed the 'Quick Edit' feature does not appear to be working, at least not for OP's.  I'm pretty sure it was working yesterday because I'm pretty sure I used it.  Today I was able to edit a post (an OP in this case), but I had to use the 'Full Edit' feature to get it to work.

The quick edit feature looked like it was working.  It let me change the text in the post, but when I went to 'Save changes' it just reverted back to the original text.  I tried this (3) times with the same results all (3) times.  Then I tried the full edit feature and the edit stuck.

Just thought I'd pass this along.

I just tried a quick edit on a regular post and an OP. Both appear to be working.

Were you just editing text or adding tags or BBcode?

I was never quick sure what the distinction was between them.

The edits I made earlier (just minor ones) are showing up now, so maybe there was some delay.  The "italics" are still not showing up, but no biggie there, I just use those for quotes.

Anyway, I have no explanation for what I saw earlier.  It honestly would not change with a quick edit.

I didn't answer all of your original questions...

Text and BBcode, no tags.  I did both at first.  Then I did text only.  Then I tried BBcode only.  Each in separate attempts.    And, with the BBcode, I tried it both ways, using the GUI and also keying it in manually.  Again, the issue appears resolved now, at least from what I can see, but it's just weird that it absolutely would not take quick edits there for a while.  Only a full edit would work (for either text only or BBcode).  I did try it several ways to see if I could isolate what the issue was, but it didn't seem to matter.

Oh well, like I say; it appears resolved now (whatever it was), so no action required.  I just wanted to fully answer your original questions.

BTW...is there any update on the 'Recent Threads' displaying properly?  Mine still doesn't show.  Only way I can see anything recent is by using 'Todays topics', or by logging out an then looking at 'Recent Threads'.

My uneducated guess is that quick edit doesn't have an intermediate save point that it updates the database from. Maybe in this instance that would be considered a cache, the package of data from a user edit. I haven't looked at the code and I wouldn't know what to look for, but my impression of how the errors play out suggests that some functions time out/fail and then halt the user from making further changes. Things like the confirmation window when adding rep will halt other things if it doesn't complete, then it screws up any other prompts from that user connection. 

I've had a couple odd little errors like that which seem to happen if I screw up and move away from a confirmation menu or if my connection is slow/interrupted.

On the recent list, I have no real update.

Last I knew it was down to removing the recent list entirely and maybe replacing it.

Mine doesn't work either. I think we're the only two unless there are unreported issues others are having.

Speaking of 'odd little errors' and things not completing properly...I have had instances where I was unable to edit a post until I refreshed that same post.  But it doesn't happen all the time, so I've chalked it up to the updating completion you spoke of.  I've never flagged any of those up because I figured they were just as easily on my (user) end, instead of a systemic / site issue. 

As you probably know, I'm pretty fluent in BBcode, so I do key that in manually pretty often.  It's often easier than scrolling up and down to get the right GUI button and text selections.  I got used to doing this on ATS because their GUI process was totally stupid and required about (5) more steps than it should have, so it was just easier to key in the BBcode than try to use the interface with all the copy and pasting.  That was probably one of the most frustrating features of the ATS application (posting pictures being possibly the first).  I'm talking like 'bath salts' level of stoopid.
