"Super" Bowl 59

My disclaimers first, and then my thought...

The game was terrible, the Eagles dominated and it wasn't a fun game to watch in the end...other than Mahomes and Kelce being knocked back down to Earth.

The commercials were about as good as an original liberal meme.

The half time show was one of the worst ever- but what do you expect when the show goes to the highest bidder (look it up).

I will, however, give them half a point credit for the fact that the live cameras had to hide the Palestinian protester who got on the field, which did screw up the live broadcast.

Now to my thought:

It seems yesterday's game, to me, was very symbolic of our recent election. Follow me here....

The KC team was the media darling bc of swift, who endorsed Kamala.

The Eagles, our country's mascot, rolled over the lefts ideals...again.

I could go deeper, but you get the idea.

About the half-time show.

I'm not a hip-hop or rap fan, I don't like pop much either, but I don't care about the artist if they put on a good performance. Dazzle us with a great show and I can basically ignore the rest.

This production was like they went into the streets right before the show and got a bunch of black people to put on the stage area. There were a few groups that did some simple coordinated dance routines that were basic beginner stuff. The rest looked like a big crowd of people dancing at the bar or a party. Then you have a couple of rappers milling around wearing rap outfits from the 80s going in circles and swinging their arms in the typical fashion, they did nothing novel or interesting.

They couldn't even put on a good Satanic or pagan ritual this time.  In a way, I'm glad to witness the total stagnation of our culture in its death throws.

I went into the game hoping to see the Eagles win.  I'm not a particular fan of the Eagles, but I'm sick and tired of hearing about the Chiefs and Taylor Swift every five minutes, or every single time I open any news website.  Just thoroughly sick of it.

As for the halftime show, I'm sort of torn on opinions; none of them good.  On the one hand, I personally thought it was horrible.  It was not musical and it didn't resonate with me in any way.  Candidly, I'm kind of shocked the NFL let such a performance on live TV to represent them, but then again, maybe gangstah is the image they want to project.  If so, well, they accomplished it well.

On the other hand, a part of me says the demographic of NOLA is such that a show like that might be more welcome there than about anywhere else.  Personally though, I couldn't tell one way or the other because even though I tried, I could not understand a single word the performer sang.  I think I did catch a couple references to "Bitch" and some other gangsta slang.

I was left with a question after the halftime show.  What image is the NFL trying to present when the lead act's lead song is entitled..."Not like Us".  Who is "Us"?  Maybe America doesn't want to be like some gangsta rapper with fake gold chains and a rented Bentley.  It's either that, or I'm completely out of touch with who the fuck "Us" is supposed to represent!  That "Us" damn sure ain't MY "Us", so really unsure what the message was supposed to be there.

As for the game, well, the first thing which comes to my mind is..."Gee, pretty tough to win without the refs totally on your side, now isn't it?"  As the OP pointed out, it was kind of a statement about America recently.  I'll even go further to say...not only did liberal celebrity-worship fail and America won, but there's more.  If you think about it on a fundamental level...Kansas City would have never gotten to where they were if it weren't for cheating and graft.  The fact that the cheating and graft was exposed before the Super Bowl forced the refs to think twice and follow the rules...and KC lost as a result.  The left has cheated just like KC except they've done it on a staggering scale of trillions of dollars, getting over on the American taxpayer.  So, the win was all the more obvious on account of that.

Oh...and I just realized Taylor Swift is actually FAT.  Sorry, y'all, but she's packin' some "LB's"!

I just realized the other day, despite her fame, I have not heard or do I know even a single Taylor Swift song.  Not even one!

My wife gets kind of mad at me for disliking TS the way I do, but it seems to me she's way over-exposed, and way more popular than she should be.  I get it that she doesn't do drugs (as far as we know) and doesn't swear in her music (sort of), and those are good things...even I will admit that.  BUT...she also knows how influential she is, and she uses this to influence others...and that I don't like, I resent even.

Sorry, but that's how I feel.

TS thinks anyone who supports Trump, or the right, are rednecks, white trash and hillbillies.  It's hard for me to get past that.
