G'day,

First I want to say thanks to everyone here for all the support and well-wishes. This site is yours. In spite of this site being the 'mud pit', there hasn't been ONE, not ONE reason for us to remove a post (other than spam). Kudos.

Issues:
---------
Other than an issue with the 'Recent Threads' page showing for a few users, everything has been trucking along pretty smoothly. I will be releasing an updated 'recent threads' link in the near future.
---------

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post them or contact me directly.

------------------------------------

Now, on to the good stuff.

------------------------------------

Free speech stands as a foundational pillar, safeguarding the rights of individuals to express their opinions, share ideas, and critique institutions. It is, THE cornerstone of a free world.

Citizens must have the right to voice their opinions, debate policies, and criticize their government without fear of retaliation. Without the guarantee of free speech, there can be no true freedom. Only tyranny.

The erosion of free speech is not just a theoretical risk—it is a real and present danger. When governments, organizations, or websites begin to censor speech in the name of political correctness, public safety, or national security, they open the door to more extensive restrictions on civil liberties. The slippery slope of censorship often starts with the suppression of certain “unacceptable” and/or "deplorable" ideas, but it can quickly expand to include dissenting views, artistic expression, and even scientific inquiry.

History has shown that when censorship takes root, it is often used as a tool to control the narrative and suppress the voices of marginalized or oppressed groups. Once the ability to speak freely is curtailed, individuals lose their power to challenge authority and fight for their rights. In this sense, free speech is not just a luxury but a safeguard against the potential for authoritarianism.

Free speech is the bedrock of a free society, essential to the functioning of democracy, the advancement of human progress, and the protection of justice and human rights. It empowers individuals to express themselves, challenge the status quo, and hold those in power accountable. Moreover, free speech is an expression of human dignity and autonomy, fostering mutual respect and understanding in a diverse world. The threat of censorship and the suppression of free speech pose significant dangers to the principles of justice and equality. As such, the value of free speech cannot be overstated; it is an absolute necessity in the free world. To preserve the freedoms and progress we cherish, we must continue to protect and defend the right to speak freely, regardless of how controversial or unpopular those ideas may be.

If you're being censored, ask yourself, why?

This is important.

The authorities should know that I, as a tireless advocate for free speech, am fully prepared to have Myke spend hard time in Canadian Gitmo if that's what it takes.

In fact, I won't rest until Myke is in Canadian Gitmo. That's how much I care about free speech.

You guys are the best.

I pop in from time to time recently but I'm kind of busy at the moment.

As long as you guys are here, I will feel like I have a home online.

I love this site, and I love you guys.

And for the bravery displayed by hosting all opinions you have earned my utmost respect.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And glass.

A toast it is then.

Cheers!
