I Don't Remember an Election When...

#1
I don't ever remember an election since I was hatched where so many people were saying the decision would be the "End of Democracy in this country!!", like it's the fucking apocalypse.

On the one hand a person could make the argument that this election really is the decision between ending this democratic republic and keeping it, so maybe all those people speak the truth.  But on the other hand, one has to ask themself...what will be at stake in 2028?  I mean, how does it get any worse than the apocalypse??  Will it then be the Ultra-Apocalypse, or the New & Improved Apocalypse.  Or maybe it's like a credit card and this is only the Silver Election, and 2028 will be the Gold Election, and the election after that will be the Platinum Election.  Then what?  The Diamond Election?  Apocalypse on Steroids Election...what?

On a more serious note, I do think this is the first election in my years on this planet where I truly believe that one party wishes to actually destroy this republic.  And candidly, it's the first time I've ever heard so many politicians talking about dismantling the Constitution in part or in total.  That's new.  I do believe the democrats are truly evil anymore and wish to destroy this republic, to just smash it to pieces.  This saddens me for the future, and in particular for our younger generations who will have to deal with this going forward.  As much as I disliked Carter and Clinton, I never heard any of them talking about dismantling the Constitution as part of their election campaign efforts.  Harris talks about democracy like she and the democrats can make that whatever they want it to be, but that's not how it works.

So, maybe it really is the apocalypse, or a choice thereof.

I don't know; something to think about.

You know, if they would just stop teasing with the foreplay and actually hold an election for an apocalypse(namely a zombie apocalypse), I'd rush to the polls to vote.

After dusting off my ol Colt Python of course.

Man, we had one of the original Pythons, a 4" barreled beauty. My dad traded it for a .270 Wby Mag MkV (which I still have), but I'd trade that cannon back for the Python any day. I think it was about 1968 or so. Had the original velvet lined wooden box and everything! That thing would be worth at least $10k+ today. He didn't know back then his son would turn out to be a collector.

I could buy one of the new Pythons, but they're no comparison to the originals in terms of fit and finish.

But I digress.

edit - In an ironic twist of fate, the transaction I referenced above took place at Abercrombie & Fitch! Back in the days when they were a real brand. Back then A&C sold custom made African hunting rifles and all sorts of outfitting gear. Today, A&C is a shining example of liberal retardation. I walked in an A&C store a few years back and (jokingly) asked them where their gun section was. The metrosexual man servant with a man bun looked down his nose, over his Starbucks lattee, at me and told me..."Abercrombie & Fitch doesn't sell GUNS! Never has!" My wife was begging me to not fuck with this kid, but I couldn't resist telling him..."Abercrombie & Fitch wouldn't even be a thing today, no one would have ever even heard of them, if it weren't for selling those evil guns, sweetheart! That's where they made their name and brand!"

I had no idea that this was the case.

They were always a teenybooper store in the mall to me. Even when I was just a teenybooper.

I..... did not fit in with that crowd. It is doubtful I'd have fit into their clothes and even more doubtful we'd have been able to afford them. I always assumed their clothes only went to large and didn't have tall. That seemed to be the case for trendy clothing.

On topic, it is rather difficult to imagine an election with more at stake. It's sort of deeper than just the party stuff. The press bias, the corruption, the eugenicists being thought leaders, all needs to be scattered to the wind.

The plug is getting pulled on the economy either way, but at least I won't go to jail for criticizing how Trump handles it or saying things that somebody doesn't like. I hope this will be a reprieve on political persecution and identity politics tyranny.

The rest all sounds like a lot of exhausting work. The press has already been having their face rubbed in it as their numbers have taken a dive. Now, they aren't going to be able to shut down the competition. They were just itching to get X shut down.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if we even start getting the truth from them.

It's perfectly acceptable for people to have their own political beliefs. It's not okay when you're using the public airwaves, with a duty to the public, to lie for the purpose of promoting those beliefs. There has been some serious manipulation of public sentiment. The press routinely lies about the actual positions of politicians and their platforms. The editing of content would probably be considered grounds for defamation suits in a rational world. It's just ridiculous.

Just this week with the Cheney firing squad hoax they ran with. Totally out of context... and something citizens have been saying about rulers since the first armies were forced to fight for their masters. It's been a liberal position up until liberals got in bed with team Cheney. It's like their voters just don't care about war and corporate rule anymore. How many collective skeletons do you need in your closets to be getting endorsed by team Diddy and team Cheney?

That's why we all have to be censored everywhere. Many people don't support the extreme policies and they have no idea what those really are in the real world. it's like a psychological trauma for ideologues to see these policies dragged through the mud like they deserve. Some of the views are clearly hypocritical and it means you have to argue everything in a vacuum or you're considered off topic. You need to be able to show and talk about the real world, not just what the news wants you to know. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

Ironically, those that most need exposure to some uncomfortable reality are most often those eager to censor it. Places that allow long-form discussion without a constant thumb on the political scale are getting scarce.

Edit to add: I had already trimmed my quote, but I saw your post before the edit! Lol. The joke makes more sense before you cut out the rest.

I cut it because I realized how angry I am, but for the record...here it is...

Sorry about that; I didn't realize you were replying. Wasn't trying to be deceptive.

Quote:I'm not a vengeful person, but I will openly admit to wanting an absolute bloodbath and blood letting of the mainstream media.  I want to see them howl in pain, and then get beaten some more!  Absolutely NO mercy on these evil perpetrators of destruction.  THEN...I want to see them doused in acid, bathed in gasoline and set on fire, then drawn and quartered, and then chopped into little pieces, run through a wood chipper, and then fed to the filth ridden hyenas of Africa whose excrement gets eaten by cockroaches, after which they are cursed by God and urinated on by the Devil himself...every last one of them!  (and that doesn't even come close to how I really feel about them!)  The mainstream media is the most evil thing to ever walk the earth in this country, and I wish nothing but DOOM on them for eternity!  And, if I had my way, I'd bring them back for a second eternity of pure pain and suffering.  I can't even begin to describe my unbridled loathing and hatred of the media and their manipulative ways.  They have breached and violated the public trust in such a irreparable way that they shall never be forgiven.  May they never sleep, or rest...ever, for eternity.

...into the woodchipper for all of them!! GRRRRRRR!

I didn't think that you were being deceptive. I just noticed when it posted that the chunk I cut out was gone from yours too. For the most part my reply didn't relate to that anyway.

I thought maybe you were testing me to see if I'd remove it.

Never crossed my mind. I read it with an open mind the first time too. You lost me in the middle, but you got me back with "May they never sleep, or rest...ever, for eternity.". It's suitably short, but a sufficiently exaggerated level of disgust.

If I thought that most of them.were smart enough to know what they did with their COVID reporting you'd have kept me through the middle too. The people that orchestrated it from making it pathogenic, to suppressing treatments, to pushing dangerous products, all deserve whatever they get.

It's a good time to short some pharma stocks. Even if Kennedy only gets the federal agencies to release all the data they've been withholding, it will be putting a dent in the public perception of pharma.

I like your suggestion about the pharma stocks!  Beat the hedge funds at their own game!  I'm normally a big critic of shorting, but I'd make a big exception in this case.  Short the MSM too.  Fuggin' losers!
