A Weird Question

#1
I mean, not super weird.

The following article is from The Blaze. It is about a 37 yo man, and the 14 yo girl he approached. It is a Caught-the-Effer Feel Good Story.

While reading it, the county jumped out at me, Maricopa County.

A question popped into my mind:

Why do people commit such crimes in Maricopa County? We all know how strict they are. Why not go to DC or someplace that has less actual law enforcement than MC?

It is along the lines of:

Why does Maine have homeless people? Get on a bus and go to Cali where it is warm all the time...

I don't have an answer to your question other than to say there are nutjobs all over the place, even in Maricopa County.  But there are more questions to be asked about this story.

The question I have after reading the article is...what's the rest of the story?  I'm glad it ended how it did with the perp landing in jail, but there must be more to this story.  The perp must have known or interacted with the victim before the encounter at the car.

I mean, c'mon..."Excuse me, could you tell me where the nearest McDonald's is?  Hey, can I have your phone number so I can get into some heavy sexting with you?"...doesn't really sound like the greatest pickup line, now does it?  And, why would someone immediately think it was okay to 'hook up' with a 14 yo girl after only asking where a McDonald's was?  That doesn't make any sense.  So, there must be more to this story.  He either knew her from a previous encounter, or there had been previous communication between the two.

Additionally, detectives, if they're being truthful, clearly told the perp (via text) that she was "a minor".  That should have been the end of the conversation right there, but it wasn't.  Why?  It seems like the perp already knew this, thus further questions about how the two knew each other before the encounter at the car.

Bottom line...great job by authorities, and I am happy this douchebag is in jail, but there is definitely more to this story.
