Just somethiung I filed in the back of my mind for future reference. I thought it seemed like an odd thing to do, not knowing the motive behind it and the timing and all.

Quote:The Vatican faces financial scrutiny as cardinals prepare for a pivotal papal election.
In the wake of Pope Francis's passing, the Vatican is once again under scrutiny as it prepares for a new conclave. This time, the financial landscape is particularly precarious, with a reported deficit of approximately 70 million euros. The situation has drawn parallels to the conclave of 1922, where American dollars played a critical role in electing Pope Pius XI. Now, a significant donation of 14 million dollars from former U.S. President Donald Trump has emerged, raising questions about potential influences on the upcoming papal election.
The donation was reportedly made during Trump's visit to the Vatican for Pope Francis's funeral, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This financial boost comes at a crucial time for the Vatican, which relies heavily on donations and revenues from its museums rather than tax income. The Vatican's historical ties to the U.S. are notable, as the country has been one of its largest benefactors, alongside Germany.

Those little things all add up : )

Zelensky's visits to the Vatican are a little suspicious, too. Considering how many billions of dollars are unaccounted for, 70 million euros are a drop in the bucket. Someone must have quite the slush fund hidden away somewhere.

A "coincidence" . . .

Pope Leo in his first sermon has called for peace in Ukraine (and Gaza). Pope Leo even telephoned Zelensky.

Quote:Pope Leo XIV and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have spoken by phone following the Pope's appeal "that every effort be made" for long and lasting peace in Ukraine and that all children be returned to their families.

Pope Leo XIV and Ukraine's President Zelensky have spoken by phone, according to the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni.

The phone call follows the Pope's appeal for peace in Ukraine during his Regina Caeli address from the central loggia of St. Peter's Basilica on Sunday afternoon.
Appeal for true, just and lasting peace for beloved Ukrainian people.

One can't help but wonder if a 12 million dollar investment is what is talking here.

ETA:

Quote:Simony is the act of selling church offices and roles or sacred things. It is named after Simon Magus, who is described in the Acts of the Apostles as having offered two disciples of Jesus payment in exchange for their empowering him to impart the power of the Holy Spirit to anyone on whom he would place his hands. The term extends to other forms of trafficking for money in "spiritual things".

Quote:Can. 149 §3. Provision of an office made as a result of simony is invalid by the law itself.

Was he dressed like an altar boy or G.I. Joe?

If he was dressed as an altar boy then it's very suspicious, but if it was the normal G.I. Joe costume then it was probably a routine ass-kissing tour.
