(Actually serious if you're interested). I've got about a foot of snow on the ground right now, so it won't be today, but I can start yet this week. We've had a few hard frosts already, so they're all good to eat now. In fact, this is the best time of the year to get them because they've fattened up as much as they can for winter, but haven't yet expended any of that fat yet.
I've got enough in my freezers for us, and there's plenty more to go around.
That's very kind of you and I wish I were equipped for storing them.
I haven't picked up a chest freezer even though it's been on my list of things to get for a couple years now. Every time I've come across one the time or price wasn't right. I'm in cattle country and always planned on buying a half a cow, but I really only eat ground beef these days. Once in a great while I'll do a roast of some kind, but I do more large cuts of pork and a fair amount of chicken thighs.
I'm glad I'm not a foot deep in snow right now. I'd like to avoid too much of that for at least another month.
