What's the point of this site...

I got here, probably like most, from a link from that other site, that site we've all been around at some point in the last 10..or 20 years.

I've read a few of the replies and seen the seemingly condemnation of someone who wasn't happy with said site.

Is it a mud pit?, sure, but what is that? Is it something to be dismissed or ridiculed, is it just a fledgling rebuke of some poster that is tired of being silenced for their "extreme" commentary.

OR....

Is it an attempt to bring the long form, intellectual discussion forum back to a point well before the character limited click and puke app based garbage all of us, well above average intellectuals, have had to endure.

Push aside your knee jerk contrarian thought process and give it a shot.....just believe.

These are my own words, I do not speak for the owner of this site, but I do believe, to some degree, this is what they/we are all looking for.

Maybe it was just me, but I didn't like the deletion of the Mudpit. It seemed like the only place people could blow off a little steam, and argue a little fiercer. I also thought it was the one place that you should have known, if you were going to post, you better be able to take the heat.

There were quite a few that wanted it to stay because of the reasons you stated.

Politics and politicians are ALL a big mud pit, either way .. might as well let people say what they feel about them ..

At the end of the day, if you can't handle hard language, some insults and rolling around in the "mud", you aren't interested in finding out the truth.

ANY form of censorship or barriers to discussion are nothing more than an attempt to control information and sanitize it to push a narrative. PERIOD
