We've all very likely seen what's happening at the mothersite right now.
Ready for some speculation?
Aaaallllrighty then.
The hammer and sickle pic establishes a narrative. You should be aware by now that 100% of the narrative is propaganda at this moment in time. The hammer is therefore a false flag in my opinion.
Things started to go wrong when, an American, bought and abandoned the site. Darko, wherever you are, I hope you are taking unsolicited, donkey d*..... dry.
A lot of us(myself included) suspected a 3-letter agency to have ties to the mothersite. It sits right there next to the mothersite in the map of the internet. Remember all those cryptography threads that would pop up every now and then with a code to break and the 'winner' and the OP kept in touch afterwards through private contact?
Gee, I wonder what that was about?
Would some wannabe hacker go up against the NSA and completely 'pwn' them?....
...... No.
Would some elite hacker waste his time with a conspiracy website and risk it all against an Intel Agency?......
..... No.
Therefore, it's not Russia.
It's not some hacker.
This one is 'proudly made in the US of A'.
You should be aware of forces inside the machinations of state that are actively causing the system to fold back in on itself and collapse.
The illegal stream of aliens across your border would be the easiest example to cite.
My only uncertainty is this: is AI being used in this endeavor? I'm sure most of us could agree that AI is already at the point where it could be used as a tool to gain control over the whole internet and targeting sites like our old haunt would be the proof that the takeover has already begun.
Thoughts?

AI has been in charge since at least the 50s.
Remember, AI stands for ARTIFICIAL Intelligence....FAKE Intelligence.
The results that it feeds back, are the results it was programmed to produce.
As for the matter you bring up, I think it was hijacked by the then Biden CAMPAIGN. They needed certain left leaning members to put out their 2 cents, plus they learned the opposition points and how to argue against them effectively.

You raise a very valid point there my man.
ATS is likely a soundboard for various groups all benefiting off the unique ecosystem.
I have a few members in mind who have raised my suspicions but without undeniable proof those thoughts are pointless.
It does tickle my spidey sense.

The number of said members has gone down a bit. A couple haven't showed up and are likely locked out of accounts now.
The mostly meaningless bickering about irrelevant points that get ignored is the majority of the activity at this point.
The hammer and sickle was the most obvious trolling tactic available, with the broadest appeal to the conspiracy-minded normies. That was naturally where their minds went, as was the purpose. A trolling tactic where every person targeted then applies their biases to the motive and identity of the attacker... is good trolling.
There is no other motive that explains it, that I can come up with, other than pure trolling.
It's amusing seeing the alarmism over this on some of the associated forums. Nothing about the security of ATS has changed in at least a year. It's longer than a year if we disregard the breach that allowed moderator access to be restored. Prior to that and without knowing of any modifications the Samaritan hacker made at the time, it had been another six months or so since an admin had been around improving security. The only thing that changed is that someone chose to visibly exploit the security holes.
I think continued trolling will probably reduce the amount of activity, but at some point the reduced activity will make the trolling less rewarding for whoever is doing it.
Makes for interesting people watching.
I think a few folks may have signed up here as a result too. When you've got a site in such a state as ATS and then essentially port the staff to another site, questions arise for many observing as members. If they aren't part of any kind of clique or a legacy member with extensive history, they'll be filling in the blanks with whatever information they have. If ATS is insecure and poses a risk to those participating there, why is somebody still sweeping the floors and keeping the "open" sign on? It's only natural that people wonder, even if they're not giving it much deep though or articulating their concerns publicly.
There's no winning a rigged game. One must simply stop playing and exit on their own terms.
Transparency can do a great deal to alleviate these kinds of problems, but the culture of ATS has historically leaned heavily toward opacity. Hopefully, MPP rebalancing the scales on transparency and open dialog will be a welcomed change for many feeling displaced or left out in the shrinking discussion forum world.
I'm glad to see you made it here, along with many others that can do more than vomit talking points. I hope the trend continues and brings a true diversity of opinions. The desire for artificial "equity", having binary thinkers represented from both imaginary sides, only serves to encourage more binary thinking. We're not in a binary world and binary thinking is for machines.

Good to see you here as well. I'm reminded of why we put an animal out of its misery when it is suffering, but I don't remember the part where we intentionally harm the animal in order to follow through with a mercy killing.
On a side note, do you know that this site was down today for several hours today did I miss the announcement?

Almost 8 hours i think...to be expected.
A new site for free speech and polite discourse is bound to be screwed with.

There was a DNS update. My ISP still hasn't updated, but I can get on with a VPN for now.

Hey Y'all,
As Ks stated I had to change our DNS setting and adopt protection because of Denial of Service and other attacks.
Certain actors would rather see this forum die.
Typically DNS changes take up to 24 hrs, everything seems to be fully resolved now, and we experienced no down time due to attacks.
Thanks for your patience crew!
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask, communication and transparency will be one of the hallmarks of this site.
