Honestly though, I would not have picked that up had you not pointed it out.
For me the direct dialogue between Lucy and Andrew was my favorite part of the story because the devil chose a female form to prey on what is obviously a very vulnerable man and then as the interaction plays out the female gets frustrated that the man is listening to her but not hearing her and the age old struggle between good and evil gets replaced by the eternal struggle of a woman trying to get a man to have a conversation the way she wants it to go.
In the end she just can't take it anymore and "gives up on his soul' by leaving while he sat with his head in his hands.
It might also be an indicator of how his marriage went.
